Tissue (Microbiology)
Collect tissue aseptically from the centre and edge of the lesion, up to 10mm sized pieces. Place specimen in a sterile container. If the tissue is very small, add a small amount of sterile saline to prevent it from drying out.

Gram stain, same day. Culture, 1-5 days.
