Serological testing is available to detect occult infection with Strongyloides stercoralis, for patients who have resided in endemic regions and are now about to undergo immunosuppression.
To diagnose gastroenteritis or suspected systemic strongyloidiasis, please send faeces for detection of eggs and adult worms.
