2 - 10 ml bone marrow aspirate in RPMI, Bone marrow trephine in RPMI
4 ml Heparin (Dark green) Whole blood sterile. Do not centrifuge or freeze.
Blood Samples are preferred for CLL and ?LPN patients with peripheral lymphocytosis.
For other disorders, peripheral blood is suitable if there are >10% blasts in circulation.
Cytogenetics
Urgent 5 days, Non-urgent 18 days
Flourescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) with IGH/FGFR3 specific probes.

Detect and characterise the t(4;14) translocation associated with Plasma Cell Myeloma.
