A qualitative screen is initially performed and positive screens are then titred. All CSF's requesting cryptococcal antigen also have routine fungi culture performed.

Adult Specimen

Cerebrospinal fluid ( CSF ) or serum (plain gold top blood tube). Plasma is not suitable.
