Requires dedicated EDTA specimens (no other tests requested).
Specimen Collection and Transport Protocols
Do not use serum. Do not use heparin.
Adult Specimen
Two EDTA tubes will ensure sufficient plasma for quantitative testing if required.
Paediatric Specimen
1mL EDTA blood

Aliquot instructions
Centrifuge EDTA tube within 24 hours of collection and separate.
Aliquot Transport
Transport at 2 - 8 C if transport time from collection is less than 72 hours. Transport frozen if more than 72 hours.
