Acute organophosphate poisoning:- Request plasma cholinesterase. Chronic organophosphate poisoning: - Request plasma and red cell cholinesterase. Suxamethonium (scoline) sensitivity:- Request plasma cholinesterase. The specimen must not be taken within 24 hrs following scoline administration, or within 2 weeks of a blood transfusion.
