CAPD fluid bag
Collect in CAPD fluid bag. Send Manual PD bag, NOT the Cycler bag. Place CAPD bag into sealed yellow biohazard waste bag to contain any leaks in transit.
Specimen must be walked to the laboratory. DO NOT SEND VIA LAMSON TUBE SYSTEM.

Microscopy 2 hrs Culture 5 days
Microscopy and culture
Cell count performed routinely. Culture is only performed on first episode of new infection or by specific request.
Aseptically collected 100mLs aliquot
