The laboratory analyser system includes a pre-analytical module (MPA) that streamlines the process by centrifuging specimens, separating them where required, and feeding them into the analysers automatically.
In order for the analysers to be upgraded, the existing MPA is being removed on Thursday 13th February.
This means that for a period of around 10 weeks (until around the end of April), laboratory staff will have to manually centrifuge and separate blood samples.
The manual process has been set up to prioritise critical and urgent samples, but please be aware that the turnaround time for some results may be slightly impacted during this time.
