Fetal Fibronectin (fFN) plays an important role as an adhesive component of the extracellular matrix at the choriodecidual interface and is present in physiologically found in cervicovaginal secretions up to 21 weeks of gestation. Testing fFN may be useful for some pregnant women with gestational age 22 weeks 0 days to 36 weeks 6 days, with symptoms of preterm labor, to help predict their risk of premature delivery.
