If BAL cell count/ cell differential is requested. Please label request form with a 'Green Sticker' located in endoscopy theatre rooms/ available on request from the cytology lab. Alternatively indicate volume instilled, returned and sent on the request form.
Send fresh sample to cytology as soon as possible.
If microbiology is required on the specimen that must be done first.
